BAXTER PROJECTS CASE STUDY
Sarah Peatfield and Sean Flanagan are highly experienced in the hospitality industry, with successful cafes currently operating in Sydney, NSW.
Sarah and Sean shared a vision for Wildgrain to be a distinct and stylish restaurant where visitors can unwind and enjoy the best produce the Mornington Peninsula region has to offer.
Wildgrain is located in the heart of the bustling town of Mornington, so they wanted to take a different approach to the design and build to achieve a totally unique and sophisticated space, unlike anything the area had seen before.
For Wildgrain, Sarah and Sean wanted to capture the essence and energy of the art deco era to create a timeless and relaxed feel.
To achieve their desired outcome, they teamed up with Pilot Studio for the interior architecture and needed a builder that could execute the design and bring the space to life. The result would be a comfortable space where people can enjoy their breakfast, lunch or dinner, along with a refreshing drink.
It was important that the build was done within a cost-effective budget and in a timely fashion, as open day was locked in.
BAXTER PROJECTS SOLUTION
Sarah and Sean appointed Baxter Projects (Baxter) to turn their Wildgrain vision into a reality.
Due to the project complexities and intricate design details, Baxter facilitated weekly design meetings with all stakeholders to ensure the brief and expectations were fulfilled. At these meetings, Baxter provided thorough shop drawings for review and clarification at the finer points of the build.
In order to achieve the high-end look and feel Sarah and Sean desired, Baxter’s top priority was creating a luxurious finish with quality materials, fixtures and fittings.
Another factor of consideration was the major joinery elements involved in the build. Baxter made certain Wildgrain achieved sustainable building practices by selecting renewable materials where possible.
By taking a deliberate approach with the building process, Baxter provided Sarah and Sean with an exceptional outcome that exceeded their brief.
Baxter successfully delivered a high- end restaurant with a tranquil feel and contemporary aesthetic, bringing Wildgrain to light. The project was completed within budget and in time for business set up, satisfying Sarah and Sean’s every need.
“Baxter Projects handled the project professionally both on site and in the office. They answered any questions we had within a timely manner and were open to any changes that were made during the build”.– Sarah Peatfield
